This contemporary Sultanabad rug is handwoven in the same region and to the same exacting standards as the celebrated Ziegler carpets produced for the Western market between circa 1880 and 1920. Crafted using traditional techniques, hand-spun wool, and vegetable dyes, it faithfully continues the legacy of late 19th-century Sultanabad weaving.

The design reflects the classic Sultanabad aesthetic, with an open, well-balanced composition and softly rendered botanical motifs arranged in harmonious symmetry. The colour palette is deliberately muted and time-softened, combining warm ivory and sandy beige tones with faded slate and denim blues, gentle camel and taupe, and subtle accents of washed terracotta and charcoal. Natural abrash throughout the field adds depth and visual interest while enhancing its antique character.

While newly made, this rug captures the elegance, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal of antique Ziegler Sultanabads, making it ideally suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors seeking authenticity, refinement, and durability.

This is available in a pair too.
