Nomadic Rugs Gallery takes its name as a tribute to the nomadic peoples who have been crafting beautiful handmade rugs for centuries — preserving traditions that go back hundreds of years.

Founded in 2010 by Ali Helabad, the gallery reflects his lifelong passion for the art of rug making and collecting. Ali began his journey in the family rug business at the Grand Bazaar in Tehran at just sixteen years old, where he learned the intricate craft of buying, selling, and appreciating antique and tribal rugs.

After moving to London, Ali worked with some of the city’s most prestigious rug dealers, including those on Pimlico Road and Harrods, gaining a deep understanding of European and Western tastes in decorative carpets.

Today, Nomadic Rugs Gallery specializes in the sale of antique, tribal, and decorative carpets, working closely with interior designers, collectors, trades and private clients around the world.
