This Sultanabad carpet is of the same quality, regional origin, and design tradition as carpets produced by the Ziegler Company for the Western market between circa 1880 and 1920. Woven in the Sultanabad (Arak) region, it reflects the distinctive aesthetic developed specifically for European and American interiors during this period.

The carpet features a soft ivory and stone-coloured field, adorned with large-scale, stylised floral and botanical motifs rendered in muted blues, slate grey, taupe, warm beige, and subtle rust accents. The palette is intentionally restrained and harmonious, characteristic of Ziegler-type Sultanabad carpets, designed to complement Western furnishings rather than dominate a space.

A blue-grey border, richly detailed with flowing vines and floral repeats, frames the composition and enhances its sense of balance and proportion. The pattern is open, symmetrical, and elegantly spaced, a hallmark of late 19th- and early 20th-century Sultanabad carpets made for export.

Carpets of this type are celebrated for their exceptional craftsmanship, durable wool, and timeless decorative appeal. Equally suited to traditional and transitional interiors, this piece embodies the enduring sophistication and versatility that made Ziegler Sultanabad carpets highly sought after in the Western world.
